Jan 6th: Arrive in Hanoi on EVA Air #397 at 11:35 AM. You are greeted at the airport and ushered to a vehicle. You are then driven to your iconic luxury hotel where you will check-in – you may have to wait a very short while for your rooms to be available as normal check-in is at 2 pm. Your hotel is located a short walk from the major attractions of the fascinating old city Located on the banks of the Red River, Vietnam's capital is a stylish and gracious city that retains a unique old-world charm and has some of Asia’s most striking colonial architecture. Hanoi is one of the world’s most fascinating cities to explore on foot, and the street food scene is vibrant and extremely diverse.
Your historic luxury hotel is the only such lodging in this city. It has an enviable location in the iconic Old Quarter of Hanoi, and major attractions, great restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as the vibrant street scene, are just a few steps away, but not in any way intrusive.  Hanoi’s Old Quarter is always abuzz with activity, and has an amazing energy that is near impossible to resist.

Jan 7th: Hanoi. You are at leisure in the morning to recuperate from your international flight.
Noon – Start your tour of Vietnam’s capital city with the impressive Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex. This site is highly revered by the North Vietnamese, and consists of several structures, including Uncle Ho’s (Ho Chi Minh) modest house on stilts, and of course the iconic mausoleum itself. This granite structure stands prominently above the parade area and grandstand at a height of 70 feet and is surrounded by meticulously maintained lawns and gardens. Please note that we do not view the preserved body of Ho Chi Minh, housed inside, as this requires a 45 minute (minimum) wait in line, and no photos are allowed. Next to the mausoleum is the breathtakingly beautiful Presidential Palace, built between 1900 and 1906 as the French Governor General of Indochina’s residence. The Palace is not open to the public, but you can stop here for a photo opportunity of the front left profile of the structure, as well as its beautiful gardens. Ho Chi Minh refused to live in the palace and had a simple home on stilts built in the gardens, which you will walk through to admire its simplicity and austerity.
After the mausoleum complex you will enjoy a cyclo (pedi-cab) ride around the Old Quarter. These ancient narrow streets are bustling with people and shops. Just like in ancient times, each street has its own specialty, including jewelry, shoes, clothes, leather, lacquerware, and much more. Your ride ends at Hoan Kiem Lake in the city center. The small urban lake is also known as The Lake of the Restored Sword, and the area surrounding it is Hanoi’s cultural center. Visit Ngoc Son Temple, situated on a small island in the photogenic lake, and observe the fascinating rituals that take place here - the devout visit it throughout the day.
In the early evening comes a fascinating performance of Water Puppetry, where Easy Tours guests will enjoy preferred seating. The Thang Long Puppet Theatre is Hanoi’s most famous because of the quality of the performers, and it is located on the banks of Hoan Kiem Lake, across from Ngoc Son Temple. This art form, which is unique to North Vietnam, originated in the 11th century. The combination of indigenous music, small fireworks and the colorful wooden performers, as well as the accomplished musicians visible in the gallery, makes this spectacle a great introduction to North Vietnamese culture.
After the performance, you will enjoy a short walk by the charming lake to your hotel, walking around the locals as they dine on street food, an activity that is omnipresent at night all over the Old Quarter. The Vietnamese take street food to a whole new level, even by Southeast Asia standards. – locals are everywhere, in Hanoi and in Saigon, occupying sections of the pedestrian walkways, parks, and all other areas, enjoying the wares of small street stalls – it has to be experienced to be believed.

Jan 8th: Hanoi. Today will be a full day of sightseeing and experiences. After breakfast your Vietnamese guide will give you a brief introduction to Vietnam and the local norms and traditions, with a little more detail on what you will experience in Hanoi.
Start your exploration of Vietnam’s capital with a visit to the Ethnology Museum. The museum is a large indoor / outdoor museum, dedicated to showcasing all fifty-four of Vietnam’s ethnic cultures. It has replicas of native costumed native people, as well as several realistic large structures that are exact copies of many different types of Vietnamese style homes on stilts.
Next, you will proceed to the Temple of Literature. Built in 1070 as a Confucian temple, this complex became Vietnam’s first university six years later. Among other things, on display are many large stones carved in the shape of a turtle bearing inscriptions of the names of all of the graduates of the university over many centuries. It is common to see local students here in school groups throughout the year, and large groups of them are here dressed in their finest during graduation periods. Walk around the complex and its gardens and explore several temples housing beautiful statues of the university’s founders and greatest scholars.
There is a break for lunch.
Afternoon - get ready to see Hanoi as very few others do. You will visit a real Hanoi district that is seldom experienced by foreigners. You will feel like you have steeped back in time, into the 1960’s when Hanoi was a quaint capital populated mostly by modest workers. Wander around these narrow alleys covered in colorful market stalls, observe the locals as they go about their daily lives – you will experience Hanoi as only the locals do.

Jan 9th: Hanoi - HaLong Bay. Check-out from your hotel in the morning, and then you join your guide and driver for the trip to Haiphong (approximately 1.5 to 2 hours) The entire bay is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the world’s most spectacular seascapes. The water is relatively calm on the bay, and the scenic beauty is characterized by a vast area that is full of lush hills jutting out of the ocean. Upon your arrival in HaLong you will join your fellow cruise travelers in a reception area where refreshments will be served. After a while you will be assisted in boarding your junk (small cruise ship). Your cruise is one of the very highest rated out of hundreds of cruises available in Halong Bay.
Once aboard, you will check in and get settled into your ocean view balcony cabin. Begin enjoying the amazing views from the upper decks as you cruise toward the center of the bay. A buffet lunch is served shortly after the cruise begins.
Your cruise will visit some of the main attractions of Halong Bay that are also visited by all other boats, but it will also spend quite a bit of time where most other cruises don’t go, in stunning locations that are a little off the beaten track. You will have various excursions during your cruise, including options to canoe, swim, explore amazing caves, and there will be a full schedule of activities on the ship that you can participate in. Excellent Vietnamese and western cuisine options will be available throughout the cruise.

Jan 10th: HaLong Bay – Hanoi – Hue . Wake up to stunning views and then proceed for a light breakfast.  Return after the scheduled morning excursion, and a full brunch will be waiting for you. The boat now begins its leisurely cruise back to the dock, giving you plenty of time for more relaxation and photography.
Check out of your cabin and you are met by your guide and driver at the dock. You are then driven to the Hanoi airport to board your flight to Hue; sometimes referred to as “the city of mist”. Hue is widely known for its magnificent monuments built under the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 - 1945), and also famous for its amazing food, as well as its unique conical hats. The monuments that you will visit here, collectively, make up one of Vietnam’s eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This honor was bestowed on the city in 1993 due its reputation as such a fine example of an eastern feudal capital.
Upon arrival in Hue, you are driven to your art deco historic riverfront resort for check-in. Your resort was the residence of the French Resident Superieure in times past, and although its location on the Perfume River may not be right next to Hue’s unique street scene, it is not that far a walk to the laid-back towns café’s and other attractions.

Jan 11th: Hue. Begin your sightseeing with a drive to the dock where you will board a long-tailed boat and enjoy a cruise up the mystical Perfume River. Your destination is Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Hue. Since its construction in 1601, this site has played an important role in the city’s history, serving as the symbol of the city with its striking 7 story pagoda, and also as a venue for demonstrations of political unrest over the centuries. On the way back you will pay a visit to the mausoleums of King Tu Duc (ruled 1848 -  883) and King Khai Dinh (ruled 1916 - 1925). The monuments, designed by the kings themselves, were also used as holiday retreats during their lifetime.
There is a break for lunch.
Continue your tour with a visit to the Royal Citadel. The sprawling complex of palaces, fortifications and pagodas was, in its day, virtually impenetrable. The tour of the Imperial City features monuments such as the Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace (Palace of Supreme Harmony), and the Forbidden Purple City. These sites among others, and the impressive scale of the complex as a whole, makes for a very interesting and fun afternoon full of incredible photo opportunities.
After this you will enjoy a guided walk through older parts of Hue, including a busy market located next to the river. Unlike Hanoi and Saigon, Hue’s lifestyle is much more relaxed, and your experience this late afternoon will be evidence of that.
You are driven back to your hotel after the tour.
In the evening you are at leisure to enjoy the facilities of your boutique lodging, or you van venture out for a walk. Hue is a great city to explore on foot. There are street side café’s, bars and restaurants, markets, and more.

Jan 12th: Hue – HoiAn. You will check-out and depart, at around 8:30 AM, for the scenic 3.5-hour (approximately) drive to HoiAn. Some of this drive is through coastal fishing villages, and much of it is one of Southeast Asia’s most spectacular roads, where you straddle the Pacific Ocean with amazing views on one side, and lush green peaks on the other.
At the highest point of the journey you will have a breathtaking view of the Pacific, and on the other side a gorgeous view of the modern city of DaNang and its bay. You will drive through the outskirts of DaNang as you head towards HoiAn, and a brief photo opportunity stop will be at the beach zone that was a favorite for American soldiers during the Vietnam war, immortalized in the television series China Beach.
Arrive in HoiAn in the early afternoon and there is a break for lunch at a boutique restaurant upon your arrival. Afterwards, you will check-in at your top-rated boutique hotel.; you are located a short walk from the ancient town, so that you can choose to walk there in the evenings and experience the lights and activity on your own.
Easy Tours does not like to have its guests in the ancient town during the afternoon as it gets really crowded and noisy due to a large influx of tourist bus groups during this time.
You are at leisure for a couple of hours to relax and freshen up.
The ancient city of HoiAn is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its reputation as the best-preserved ancient seaport in the world.
Bamboo Platform Dining Experience for all Easy Tours guests: At 4:30 PM you will be escorted to the banks of the river. You will board the HoiAn area’s iconic basket boats for a short cruise. After a few minutes you will arrive at your destination – a large floating bamboo raft, situated on a beautiful secluded part of the river, far from the crowds of the historic city, and surrounded by tropical nature. Butlers and other staff will feed you unique local cuisine and fresh vegetables. At the end of the evening, you will return to your hotel, at about 8 PM.

Jan 13th: HoiAn – DaNang – Siem Reap. In the morning you will begin your discovery of the ancient seaport with a guided walk through the Japanese and Chinese Quarters of the tiny town. One of the highlights is the much adorned and photographed Japanese Bridge, after which you will visit a number of temples, pagodas, communal houses, traditional shops and other places of interest in the small town. You will be escorted to your nearby hotel after this exploration, where you will freshen up and check-out.
Check-out of the hotel and there is a break for lunch. After lunch you are driven towards Danang airport. On the way, with a very short detour, you will visit the Marble Mountains. These are a photographer’s delight - a group of 4 hillocks (Wood, Earth, Fire, and Water) that are a popular pilgrimage site, with many Buddhist shrines and temples that have been built into ancient pre-existing caves in the hillocks. You will explore one series of caves, where the main cavern is 70 feet high with large holes in the ceiling, allowing the sunlight to illuminate a large Buddha statue sitting in a nook 30 feet off the ground. The Marble Mountains, though somewhat under-billed, are a true highlight of any visit to Vietnam. They were the scene of a lot of fighting during the war, and when you explore the area, you can visualize just how difficult battles on this type of terrain must have been. There are still many bullet holes present in several of the gates and other structures. You will then proceed to the DaNang airport to board the early evening flight to Siem Reap.
Arrive in Siem Reap. You are greeted at the airport by a Travel Facilitator and ushered to a chauffeur driven vehicle. You are then driven to your beautiful resort and assisted with your check-in. Your top-rated resort is located at one end of the hotel zone of Siem Reap, closer to the magical destinations of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom as compared to almost all other hotels. Besides the excellent cuisine available at the resort, there are various food outlets and stores outside the resort, and a complex that is popular with travelers and has dozens of restaurants and cafés is a short walk away.

Jan 14th: Siem Reap. Rising before dawn, proceed for your exploration of the Mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Believed to be the world's largest religious building, this temple is the perfect fusion of symbolism and symmetry and a source of pride and strength to all Khmers. Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, this is most famous temple at Angkor. Arrive at the monument as the sun rises and then proceed into the great structure to discover its intricacies, as described by your guide.
After exploring Angkor Wat you are driven back to the hotel for breakfast and some time to freshen up.
Next, pay a visit to the immense walled city Angkor Thom that was the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII. Following the occupation of Angkor by the Chams from 1177 to 1181, the new king decided to build an impregnable fortress at the heart of his empire. The scale is simply staggering, and you will be awed by the achievement of King Jayavarman as you enter the city’s gates. The causeway is lined by an intricate bridge depicting the Churning of the Ocean of Milk from Hindu mythology in which the Devas (gods) and Asuras (devils) are engaged in tug of war with a Naga (seven-headed serpent) to obtain the elixir of immortality. Begin your visit at the Terrace of the Leper King. This intricately carved platform was the royal crematorium and the statue that was originally thought to be the leper king is now believed to be Yama, the god of death.
We continue along the Terrace of Elephants, originally used as a viewing gallery for the king to preside over parades, performances and traditional sports. At the southern end lies the Baphuon, once of the most beautiful temples at Angkor, dating from the reign of Uditayavarman 1 in the 11th century. It has undergone a massive renovation by the French and is now once again open for viewing.
Then proceed to the enigmatic and enchanting temple of the Bayon. At the exact center of Angkor Thom, this is an eccentric expression of the creative genius and inflated ego of Cambodia’s most celebrated king. Its 54 towers are each topped off with the four faces of Avalokiteshvara (Buddha of Compassion), all of which bear more than a passing resemblance to the king himself.
There is a break for lunch.
Next up is the mystical Ta Prohm, which has been abandoned to the elements, a reminder that while empires rise and fall, the riotous power of nature marches on, oblivious to the dramas of human history. Left as it was ‘discovered’ by French explorer Henri Mouhout in 1860, the tentacle-like tree roots here are slowly strangling the surviving stones, man first conquering nature to create, nature later conquering man to destroy. This was one of the settings for Lara Croft’s adventures in “Tomb Raider”.
Complete your exploration of the Angkor ruins with a visit to another temple that makes you feel like you have traveled back in time - Preah Khan. This large temple is left unrestored for the most part and is a fascinating maze of narrow passageways and windows that each offers their own unique view into the past.

Jan 15th: Siem Reap – Bangkok. You are assisted with your check-out and you will now proceed on the drive to Beng Mealea. Arrive and start your guided exploration of this massive early 12th century complex. Although much of the area is in ruins, there is a lot that is still in good condition, and some of the trees and vegetation have intermingled with the structure to create a sight that is unmatched by other similar monuments in Southeast Asia. Due to its distance from Siem Reap, this surreal complex attracts significantly less tourists than Angkor Wat and the temples in the city of Angkor Thom. It serves as a great introduction to what you will observe during your discovery of the Angkor region.
From Beng Mealea you will head to the Banteay Srei Temple Complex, another one of the more amazing temple complexes in all of Cambodia. Although it attracts more visitors than Beng Mealea, it is still uncrowded when compared to the main complexes in the Siem Reap Region. Banteay Srei is another Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva, and, at more than a thousand years of age, it is older than almost all of the more significant in the Siem Reap Region. Constructed from hard Red Sandstone, this complex is a study in detail – it is small when compared to the main complex’s structures in Siem Reap, or even the Beng Mealea Complex, but its intricacy of amazing original sculpture, especially the detailed figures of Hindi Gods and Goddesses, including voluptuous and beautiful Apsaras, has to be viewed so as to appreciate talent of the ancient artists that created this masterpiece. Some parts of this temple, more so than in other Angkor Region monuments, are replicas due to theft over the last few decades, before adequate protection was added.
From Banteay Srei you will head back to Siem Reap airport where you are assisted in boarding your flight to Bangkok.
Arrive in Bangkok and you are greeted at the airport and ushered to a vehicle. You are then driven to your hotel for assisted check-in.
The giant metropolis of Bangkok is a fascinating blend of modern skyscrapers, congested traffic, beautiful and ornate Wats (temples), incredible street food, and a lot more. The colorful Thai culture and the easygoing local lifestyle make this unique city even more interesting. Your hotel is known as one of the finest Bangkok has to offer, boasting a riverfront location and fantastic views of the River of Kings, and the best views are from your balcony. It offers luxury accommodation and great dining options, including a large and diverse selection of delicious western and eastern breakfast options.
The hotel offers their great classic boat shuttle, departing every 15 minutes between 6am and midnight, across the river to the Tak Sin pier, where you can catch other boats that service the Chao Phraya. At the pier can also be found the Tak Sin BTS station, giving you access to Bangkok’s Metro and the fastest way to traverse the city.
In the Tak Sin are there are multiple dining options available, ranging from great street food to upscale dining. There is great Thai and Chinese food, western cuisine, pizza and hamburgers, or anything else that you may want. The BTS can quickly take you to the Patpong Night Market, with its infamous nightlife.
Very near your hotel you can find multiple ATM’s and a few Thai 7-Elevens where you can buy pretty much anything that you desire, ranging from snacks, drinks, sim cards, to a selection of western spirits.

Jan 16th: Bangkok. Today will be a long day full of amazing experiences, starting at 9 AM, and ending in the late evening. Begin your guided exploration of Thailand’s exciting capital city with an excursion to Yaowarat, the heart of Bangkok’s China Town. The area is packed with market stalls, sidewalk restaurants, and gold shops that specialize in wares for the local Chinese population. You will enjoy a guided walk through Yaowarat, which is famous for one of the biggest and most fascinating street food scenes in all of Thailand. From Chinatown you will be driven to the The Grand Palace complex, which has been the official residence of Thai royalty since 1782 and is still used for official events. Your tour guide will show you some of the more interesting highlights of the complex. The collection of buildings serves as a nice introduction to Thai architecture and provides many great photo opportunities. Just one of the several stops you will make within the complex is Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. This is the most sacred Buddhist temple (wat) in all of Thailand. Except for the Thai King, no other person is allowed to touch this statue. The King changes the statue’s cloak three times each year to correspond to the summer, winter, and rainy seasons.
Next, you will visit Wat Pho, known also as The Temple of the Reclining Buddha, adjacent to the Grand Palace. This large statue is 50 feet (15 meters) high and 140 feet (43 meters) long and is covered in gold leaf. The bottoms of the feet are inlaid with mother of pearl, divided into 108 panels depicting the 108 auspicious symbols used by the Buddha. A colorful interlude during this morning’s exploration will be a walk-through Bangkok’s wholesale flower market, where millions of colorful displays are spread throughout.   Flowers are an integral part of Thai society, and the plethora of fragrant colors amidst the extremely busy shops and stalls are a delight to experience.
There is a break for lunch.
Afternoon: Enjoy an urban excursion by long-tailed boat to discover the canals of Thonburi. The people of Thailand, including the residents of Bangkok, have always lived a riparian lifestyle. You will explore the intricate network of canals, or Khlongs as you cruise past colorful homes and other structures. Unlike the tourist areas that you stay in with most tours, this adventure will offer great insights into how the locals live. You will see women washing clothes and utensils in the water, children swimming in the waters, locals throwing food to teeming schools of fish (considered a religious offering), and a lot more.
Stop at Baan Silapin (Artists House), the beautifully decorated centuries-old structure on a residential canal, for a brief visit. This succession of buildings is a whimsical art gallery showcasing local creative talents. Your last stop in the canals will be a quick visit to the hidden Museum of Royal Barges, which houses a few of the ornately carved and painted barges used by Thai Royalty.
As you pull out of the canals, you will enjoy great photo opportunities of beautiful Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn), Bangkok’s iconic riverside monument. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon for some down time before this evening’s activity.
Evening: Manohra Dinner Cruise on the River of Kings. Your guide will escort you on the hotel barge, from your hotel’s pier, to a spot near where you will board your beautiful wooden dinner cruise boat. After you board the boat your guide will give you a Thailand Introduction Presentation for 15 minutes, until the boat departs. A large variety of Thai dishes and set menus are available for dinner, including vegetarian options: Here is a cruise description from the operator:
Relax in luxurious tranquility, admiring the River of King’s illuminated banks and striking landmarks at night, from the bustle of Asiatique the Riverfront to the strikingly illuminated Temple of Dawn and glittering Grand Palace. Step aboard a beautifully restored antique rice barge and cruise in old world elegance along the majestic Chao Phraya River. Pass along famous royal sites, exquisite temples and striking modern landmarks as you dine on fine Thai cuisine at one of the best river dinner cruises Bangkok has to offer.
Float down the River of Kings on a beautifully restored rice barge. Revel in old world splendor over two unforgettable hours of fine cuisine and magnificent culture. Savor exquisite tastes and cocktails accompanied by a unique view of Bangkok. Pass famous royal sites, grand temples, and striking modern landmarks as you enjoy traditional Thai favorites.

Jan 17th: Bangkok. Today will be another long day of fascinating experiences and discoveries. Continue your exploration of Thailand with an excursion to a fascinating area located a little over an hour away to the southwest of Bangkok. As your first stop you will experience the famous Maeklong Railway Market, locally known as the Umbrella Pulldown Market! This name is derived from the fact that the vendors spread their wares and awnings to cover the railroad tracks, and then everything is pulled back when a train passes through. The market is one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand and also sells a host of other local food specialties, as well as other goods, including clothing and souvenirs. From here you will be driven to the seashore at Klong Khone, where you will be assisted in boarding your long-tailed boat. Proceed on a calm cruise to your lunch destination, a seafood restaurant built on stilts over the water. There are other options for those not interested in fresh seafood. After lunch you will have a very unique experience as you cruise through the dense mangrove forests of Samut Songkhram. You will visit a charming oyster farm and will encounter the local monkeys that are expert swimmers, providing visitors with great photo opportunities. All this while you will be in true rural Thailand, cruising past remote villages.
From here you will drive to Amphawa, stopping briefly for a photo opportunity at a very unique rural house of worship, Wat Bang Kung, or the Banyan Tree Temple. Dating back to the ancient Ayutthaya Period, this small temple’s exterior has been completely enveloped by a couple of massive Banyan Trees. It is an active place of worship for the local villagers and its ancient history makes it all the more sacred to the locals. It is Easy Tours policy to do our best to avoid touristy experiences such as weaving villages, monk chats and the over-crowded floating market of Damnoen Saduak. Easy Tours will take you to the picturesque Amphawa Floating Market, which is a treasure trove of photo opportunities. From little wooden stalls overloaded with fruits, vegetables and orchids to serene Thai women gently paddling with graceful slow motions, making their way smoothly to the banks where they will sell their goods. Your tour guide will escort you on the banks of the canals and will give you insights into all the activities taking place. After the floating market you will enjoy the scenic drive back to Bangkok.

Jan 18th: Bangkok – Chiang Mai. Check-out in the early morning and you are driven to the airport to board your flight to Chiang Mai. Arrive in Chiang Mai and you are greeted at the airport and driven to the city center.
Located on the Ping River, Chiang Mai was once the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, which flourished in northern Thailand between the 12th - 15th centuries. The city is the second largest city in Thailand, and the cultural capital of the north. Possessing great natural beauty and a host of outdoor activities and parks on its outskirts, the city itself is a fascinating combination of unique architecture, ancient history with its associated rituals, and a modern metropolis. Chiang Mai is one of Asia’s best cities to explore on foot, with a bustling street food scene. You will now explore the historic walled city of Chiang Mai. Included are visits to some of the iconic old temples of ancient Chiang Mai, including Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Chiang Man. This tour demonstrates the architectural diversity and blending of styles that the Lanna were known for. It is also a great way to get familiar with the city, should you decide to go out during the evenings and explore on your own. During the middle of the city tour there is a break for lunch.
In the early afternoon you will be assisted with check-in to your small boutique resort. Your resort has among the best locations in the city on the riverfront in a quiet upscale area, yet only a 10 to 15-minute walk to Chiang Mai’s famous night market, the area where there are scores of cafés, restaurants, and bars. It is a truly boutique property and widely recognized as one of the most charming accommodations in the city. The view of the river is framed by a beautiful ancient tree on the resort grounds.
Mid-afternoon: Proceed on a drive up to Doi Suthep, the mountain on the edge of the city that dominates the Chiang Mai skyline. Once at the top, you will find the 309 stairs up to Wat Phra That, which are flanked on each side by beautiful Nagas, which run the entire length of the stairs. You also have the option of taking a large elevator (which does usually have a line) up to the Wat. Once at the top, enjoy the spiritual ambience of one of Thailand’s most holy places, as well as some superb views of the city. You will see devout Thai’s circling the main stupa in a ritualistic manner, and many others on their knees in deep prayer. Walk down the stairs and you are driven back to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Jan 19th: Chiang Mai – Doi Inthanon Excursion. Today, you will proceed for a guided visit to the most photographed attractions in Northern Thailand, located in the Doi Inthanon region. You will also visit other major attractions inside Doi Inthanon National Park, which is a proudly protected area that is home to the highest mountain in Thailand, Doi Inthanon.
Doi Inthanon is a huge and superb national park full of majestic waterfalls, lush green valleys, terraced paddy fields, fruit, flower and vegetables crops, and ethnic communities living prosperous, free and happy in their natural environment. Once at the peak you will admire the views and then enjoy an easy trek through the mist laden virgin forest and be fascinated with the unique flora that is found here.
After a break for lunch, there will be two more not-to-be-missed experiences on your way back to Chiang Mai.
The subject of the most gorgeous and popular photos that travel journals and websites use for the Chiang Mai region are actually situated close to the peak of Doi Inthanon. Phra Mahathat Naphamethanidon and Naphaphonphumisiri are two gorgeous and colorful Chedis, dedicated to the Beloved Late King and the Revered Queen, located in a magical spot with spectacular views. The immaculate terraced gardens with unbelievably beautiful flowers that surround the Chedis would be an attraction by themselves, but the massive and beautiful Chedis facing each other at the center of this breathtaking locale, make this a true treat for your eyes and your soul.
A fascinating stop as you head down the mountain is the Royal Projects Highway Market run by the Hill Tribes of the Doi Inthanon region. You will stop and walk around the outdoor stalls selling fruits, produce, nuts and other items organically grown by the simple and now prosperous tribal locals, some of whom will be dressed in their unique clothing. This market, its wares, and the tribal people that grow and sell here are a growing testament of the success of the Late King’s vision and efforts. In the 1960s, poppy fields were widespread in the mountains of Northern Thailand, and hill tribe villagers were working as laborers for opium producers and smugglers. King Bhumibol (Rama IX) initiated drastic reforms in the region to put an end to it. It was the beginning of the ‘Royal Projects’. These projects were highly profitable to the whole region and to the ethnic communities who were literally slaves of the drug barons and addicts to opium.
The Hill Tribes were given land to cultivate, provided with free seeds, tools, and all kinds of resources to make them succeed in becoming successful natural farmers. Now, over half a century later, the results of the Late King’s vision have brought happiness to everyone involved. Arrive back in Chiang Mai in the early evening.
Chiang Mai has an interesting night market every day of the week, but by far the biggest and most fascinating of all is the Sunday Night Market. Join your guide this evening for an excursion to Chiang Mai’s most exciting and extensive night market. This market has a really fascinating street food scene and is another one of Southeast Asia’s amazing photo opportunities.

Terms and Conditions
Terms & Conditions for Tours - SE Asia

COAP: The term COAP as used in this section applies to Confirmation of Availability Package. This is the unique (for each reservation) binding and legal electronic contract to which a unique link is e-mailed to each guest when they are ready to finalize their reservation. Once a guest electronically accepts the COAP and pays their initial deposit, all the terms and conditions listed below apply and are the sole terms and conditions that the Contract between Easy Tours and the Guest will be governed by.

Your Payments are Protected - Easy Tours, Inchas a trust account with Chase Bank. All guest payments go directly to this account. From there, payments are disbursed to the vendors providing different services during your upcoming visit.

Easy Tours Liability Insurance: We maintain a USD $3,000,000 Professional Liability Policy through Zurich (backed by AIG).

Travel Insurance: We offer a variety of policies (to US residents) from one of the largest Travel Insurers in the United States, Allianz Global Assist, and are on their covered suppliers list, a distinction enjoyed by few companies. Allianz Global Assistance can offer you a variety of coverage options and we can guide you in selecting the plan that is best for you.  Bear in mind that cancellation of a tour requires a large amount of documentation which covers each hotel, flight, and ground service segment of your tour that got canceled. If you purchase insurance through us we know what Allianz Global Assistance wants, and they are familiar with our documents, thereby saving you time and effort.  As with all types of insurance, terms, conditions, and exclusions apply.

Privacy Policy: Easy Tours will not share your personal information with any outside person or agency, except for the purpose of (1) making various reservations for your visit to Asia; (2) processing your payments through the Banks and Credit Card transaction institutions (all located in the United States) that we deal with. If you use our assistance in obtaining a visa (only applicable to Bhutan), the pertinent information will be shared with the Consulate and/or Embassy. From time to time, we may send you information on our specials. You will always have the option to stop that whenever you choose.

Visa Information: There is a visa required to enter most Asian countries for US Nationals – Thailand is an exception). Information concerning this will be e-mailed to you after you finalize your reservation, but Easy Tours accepts absolutely no responsibility for your (real or perceived) non-receipt of this information – it is solely the traveler’s responsibility to acquire their visa(s). Charges for the Visa or a current passport are not included in quoted tour costs.

Applicable Laws during your travels. While traveling you are subject to the laws, customs and regulations of the nation that you are visiting, and the relevant local Governments in the areas where these services are rendered.

Financial Liability of Easy Tours: Easy Tours Inc.'s liability in any and all cases will be limited to a refund of the payments made directly by you to us, subject to our cancellation and refund policies. Your acceptance of our "Confirmation of Availability Package" is also your legal, binding, and unconditional acceptance of the preceding statement.

By accepting the COAP (Confirmation of Availability package) you are guaranteeing that you accept the sole responsibility of the fact that you, and everyone listed as a fellow traveler on your COAP, is in good enough health to participate in the tour/visit. You also accept that you are aware that the infrastructure and other conditions in South Asia are not as advanced as the United States and that you are consciously accepting, for you and everyone listed as a fellow traveler on your COAP, any and all risks associated with traveling in South Asia. Facilities for the handicapped are grossly inadequate, except for in a few select areas.

International Airline Tickets: Easy Tours does not issue tickets for your travel to, and from South Asia, except for the flights that are a part of a multi-nation Southeast Asia tour that we are facilitating. For you international flights to and from South Asia, we have the expertise to offer you advice on the best combinations of airlines, travel durations, and values, for the regions we offer, and can introduce you to airfare consolidators that offer discounted pricing on international airfare to South Asia in First, Business & Coach class.

Please note that Easy Tours is only providing advice and, upon a guest’s request, introducing you to airfare consolidator(s). We accept no responsibility for the actions and inactions of the consolidator(s) or other service providers we refer you to, or for any changes in quality and/or service schedule by the airlines/flights that we recommend. Easy Tours does not accept commissions from airlines or other service providers. It is the guest's responsibility to confirm, pay for, and process all transactions concerning travel to and from South Asia directly with the service provider.

Easy Tours and its affiliates are not responsible, in any sense of the term, for hardship or loss (financial or otherwise) caused by delays, cancellations, and any changes in the international flight or airline requirements, or by a traveler wanting to change or cancel their international travel and being unable to do so. Neither Easy Tours, nor any of its affiliates, are party to, or responsible for, any and all events or circumstances relating to this travel.

Please note that International Airline tickets will incur Cancellation & Change Charges as specified by the Airlines & Consolidators. Please bear in mind that certain airfares cannot be cancelled.
If you choose to arrange your own international air travel, we recommend that you arrive at least a day before your tour begins, and leave at least a day after the tour ends. This protects you in case of flight delays and cancellations and also allows you to spend additional time in Delhi (or your port of embarkation/disembarkation), giving you a chance to absorb the local culture and other attractions without the constraints of a fixed itinerary. We can offer you our pre-negotiated rates on your choice of accommodation for the extra days upon request.

Flights Delays and Cancellations: We strongly recommend that you secure travel insurance for your time in South Asia. If your international arrival is delayed, there are no last minute refunds for missed hotel nights. Guests that feel that they can pressure a hotelier into issuing a refund or credit for a missed night need to understand that the contract for their hotel reservations is between Easy Tours and the Hotelier and we do not wish to harm our relationships with the Hoteliers.

If you miss any domestic flights due to this delay, the Smart Fares we book are refundable with minimal cancellation charges but the new tickets that you will need to book are going to be significantly higher as they will be secured at the last minute. Although Easy Tours only uses South Asia’s best airlines and makes every effort to use domestic flights that offer back-ups with later flights in case of a cancellation or significant delay, this is not always possible in every itinerary. If a domestic flight is cancelled and re-booking alternative flights (or using alternate means of transportation) is more or less expensive, a debit or credit will be issued to the guest. Hotel nights lost due to domestic travel cancellations have no last minute refunds for missed hotel nights.

Tour Availability & Modifications: Easy Tours receives requests for tour reservations from many time zones and parts of the world. To preserve the quality of our tours and the level of service provided, we limit the number of guests per tour to what the available facilities can easily withstand. We do not ask for any payment until your acceptance of our "Confirmation of Availability Package" (C.O.A.P.). If we are unable to satisfy you on the dates you've requested, we'll offer you some alternate dates.

Hotels and flights can get over-booked or fail to provide contracted services for other reasons. Easy Tours reserves the right to substitute equivalent grades of accommodations and switch travel itineraries around to respond to these situations, although for our Hotel reservations this is highly unusual and occurs less than 0.01% of the time. Weather related issues and technical problems with airlines do occur on occasion.

Tours begin & end on the days specified. Airline & hotel reservations are made well in advance by Easy Tours. Please make sure that you make room for delays, both at the START, and the END of your tour. You can lose out on part, or all, of your tour (depending on how tardy you are). Any guest that is not at their chosen starting point (airport, hotel or similar location) at the scheduled time, is considered a "no show"*.

Easy Tours will do it's best to keep to the itinerary you choose. If circumstances beyond our control force us to deviate from the original plans, we will provide you with a choice between comparable values and a refund of the relevant fees.

Prices: All rates quoted are per person, based on double occupancy, and in US dollars. If not listed, single supplements are available upon request. All prices, except for when a guest has accepted their electronic contract and paid their initial deposit, are subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of Easy Tours.
Unlike some tour operators, tour costs include accommodations and all taxes and surcharges on them, meals as listed in the inclusions of your itinerary, tours of all the sights and monuments as per your itinerary, safe bottled water as per your needs, as well as the best English speaking guides and visit facilitators during your visit. All our tours include entrance fees to all the monuments on your itinerary.
Quoted tour costs do not include hotel stays before and after your tour, unless specified on your itinerary. Those costs can be quoted on request. Except for specified meals and snacks between destinations, many meals are not included in private tour costs. Small Group Tours usually include all breakfasts and lunches. Excess baggage charges are not included – it is the guest’s responsibility to ascertain that their baggage dimensions and weight comply with the airline requirements. Gratuities to guides, staff belonging to airlines, chauffeurs, or hotels and restaurants (none of which are mandatory if the availed services are part of the tour) are not included. The cost of personal items such as laundry and dry cleaning, drinks, and incidentals are not included. Cost of Visas and Passports is not included.

Payments: ALL PAYMENTS, DEPOSITS & OTHER MONETARY SUMS ARE QUOTED PER PERSON IN ALL STATEMENTS THAT FOLLOW. We require payment of $1000.00 per guest (per advertised tour) as an initial deposit (certain tours and dates can require larger deposits, custom itineraries will require deposits of $1000.00 or more, depending on a variety of reasons). We require only this initial deposit at the moment you accept the itinerary of your web based (or faxed) "Confirmation of Availability Package" and ask us to reserve it for you. We accept the initial deposit by credit card, certified check, or bank transfer only. We prefer checks and bank transfers for the balance.

Unlike some tour operators, tour costs include accommodations and all taxes and surcharges on them, breakfast at your hotel (in some tours, such as Cuisines Tours, Ayurveda and Yoga retreats, almost all meals are included), tours of all the sights and monuments as per your itinerary, A bottle of water per day per person, as well as the best English speaking guides and visit facilitators during your visit. All our tours include entrance fees to all the monuments on your itinerary. Additional visits and/or cameras (including video and movie cameras) will sometimes have additional charges that guests are responsible for.

Quoted tour costs do not include (before and after your tour) hotel stay at, or fares to and from, your city of origin in Asia. Those costs can be quoted on request by choosing them in your tours Reservation Inquiry Form. Except for specified meals and snacks between destinations, most meals are not included in tour costs. Excess baggage charges are not included. Gratuities to guides, staff belonging to airlines, transportation providers, or hotels and restaurants (none of which are required if the availed services are part of the tour) are not included. The cost of personal items such as laundry and dry cleaning, drinks, and incidentals are not included. Cost of Visas and Passports is not included.

Once your reservation is confirmed and you have paid for your visit in full, we will not make any changes to the costs of your visit. If your trip is not paid for in full, we may revise the quoted prices only if there is a significant increase in transportation costs. Such a change will not impact your tour costs by more than 10% of the total quoted initially. If that isn't acceptable, Easy Tours will promptly process a refund of all amounts you have paid to us. Our liability in such a case, as in all other instances of cancellation or change in the itinerary of a tour, is limited to a refund of only the amounts you have paid to us.

There is a visa required to enter almost all countries (except Thailand) in South Asia. We will provide you with links to the electronic visa page for each country when you reserve your tour. Delays or inability in obtaining needed documents will result in cancellation or alteration costs as defined below. Charges for the Visa (except for Bhutan, where we arrange the visa) or a current passport are not included in quoted tour costs.

All services and accommodations are subject to the laws, customs and regulations of the relevant local Governments in the areas where these services are rendered.

By accepting the Confirmation Of Availability package, you are accepting the responsibility of making sure that that you and all other members of your tour/visit group are solely responsible for ensuring that you are healthy enough to participate in the tour/visit. You also accept that you are aware that the infrastructure and other conditions in Asia are not as advanced as the United States and that you are consciously accepting any and all risks associated with traveling in Asia. For example, most passenger cars don't have rear seat area seat belts, and some don't have any. Facilities for the handicapped are almost non-existent, except for in a very few select areas.

Airline Tickets to & from South East Asia - Easy Tours only serves as a resource for information in this respect. When you mark the travel to and from South East Asia checkbox (and we connect you with an agency specializing in travel to Asia), we recommend that you ask to arrive at least a day before your tour begins, and leave at least a day after the tour ends. This protects you in case of flight delays and cancellations and also allows you to spend additional time in your arrival and departure cities, giving you a chance absorb and savor the local culture and other attractions without the constrains of a fixed itinerary. By selecting the hotel stay before and after tour option, we can get you discounted rates for those periods on your choice of accommodation. It is the guest's responsibility to confirm, pay for, and process all transactions concerning travel to and from Asia. The contract for this travel exists solely between the traveler and the ticketing agencies, the airlines, and their representatives. No changes, cancellations, refunds, and/or any other requests, can, or will, be processed by Easy Tours. Neither Easy Tours, nor any of its affiliates, are party to, or responsible for, any and all events or circumstances relating to this travel.

Availability: Easy Tours receives requests for tour reservations from many time zones and parts of the world.

Hotels, flights, and trains can get over-booked or fail to provide contracted services for other reasons. Easy Tours reserves the right to substitute equivalent grades of accommodations and switch travel itineraries around to respond to these situations

Delays: Tours begin & end on the days specified. Airline & hotel reservations are made well in advance by Easy Tours. Please make sure that you make room for delays, both at the START, and the END of your tour. You can lose out on part, or all, of your tour (depending on how tardy you are). Any guest that is not at their chosen starting point (hotel or similar location) at the scheduled time, is considered a "no show"*.

International flights can be delayed by a day or more; local flights & other transportation by almost as much. We suggest you time your arrival in South East Asia for at least a couple of days before your tour begins. If the arrival was punctual, this will leave time for you to explore the local area. A day or two at the end of your visit will allow you to finish all of your shopping & local sightseeing.

Easy Tours will do it's best to keep to the itinerary you choose. If circumstances beyond our control force us to deviate from the original plans, we will provide you with a choice between comparable values and a refund of the relevant fees.

Payments: ALL PAYMENTS, DEPOSITS & OTHER MONETARY SUMS ARE QUOTED PER PERSON IN ALL STATEMENTS THAT FOLLOW. We require payment of $1000.00 per guest plus the cost of the flights within South Asia that we are reserving, as an initial deposit. Certain custom designed tours can require larger deposits, and this will be clearly mentioned when we send you such an itinerary and quotation. We require only this initial deposit at the time you accept the itinerary of your web based "Confirmation of Availability Package" and ask us to reserve it for you. We accept the initial deposit by credit card, certified check, or bank transfer only.

The balance of the cost of your tour (after subtracting your initial deposit) is required at least 95 days prior to the start of your tour, or if less than 95 days remain when you are reserving your tour, at the time of approval of your "Confirmation of Availability Package".

Prices: All rates quoted are per person, based on double occupancy, and in US dollars. If not listed, single supplements are available upon request in the 'Comments" section in each 'Reservation Inquiry Form'. All prices, except for when a deposit has been accepted by Easy Tours, on a C.O.A.P. submitted to the guest, are subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of Easy Tours.

Unlike some tour operators, tour costs include accommodations and all taxes and surcharges on them, breakfast at your hotel (in some tours, such as Cuisines Tours, Ayurveda and Yoga retreats, almost all meals are included), tours of all the sights and monuments as per your itinerary, two bottles of water per day per person, as well as the best English speaking guides and visit facilitators during your visit. All visits include entrance fees to all monuments on your itinerary. Additional visits and/or cameras (including video and movie cameras) will sometimes have additional charges that guests are responsible for.

Non-Refundable charges: $250.00 per person of the initial deposit is non-refundable regardless of when you choose to cancel, and may not be applied towards changes in your itinerary. It goes to pay our initial costs, such as mailing costs, costs associated with making your initial reservation, and associated administrative costs.

If you are reserving flights to and from any destination in Asia as part of your tour, all charges for this service are due to the travel agency you've chosen at whatever time was agreed between you and them.

Cancellations are processed as detailed below. If Easy Tours does not receive, or is unable to process any of your payments within as per the schedule outlined above, we will cancel your reservation and process a refund of your total payments, after adjusting for the agreed upon Cancellation Costs. We use secure servers to process your electronic payments.

Cancellations - A request for cancellation will only be considered valid if it is processed by either of the following two means-

(a) Received by our web site (easytourspayments.com), submitted on the appropriate form (link provided as part of the C.O.A.P. at the time of initial confirmation of your order).

(b) By registered mail or delivery service (with proof of in-person delivery) at our US mailing address - Easy Tours, Inc., Ste 180, 16238 RR, 620 North #F Austin, TX 78717.

Within 2 business days of receiving your request for cancellation request, Easy Tours will send you a link to your Cancellation Agreement which details the exact amount refundable to you, if any, as per your original contract (COAP). Once we receive your acceptance of this agreement, Easy Tours will process your refund promptly as described in the Refund section below.

Discount Airfares to & from your tour destination in Asia are usually not cancelable. If you asked Easy Tours to refer you to a travel agency/airline, we cannot refund any charges you paid for the airline tickets or any other fees tendered to them. For the payments made to Easy Tours, and only for those payments, the following cancellation terms and charges apply:

Cancellation Costs for All Southeast Asia Countries except Myanmar.

The Cancellation Costs detailed below pertain ONLY to the Land Costs of your tour.

(a) Cancellations received by us at least 95 days (but after 120 days) before your tour originates, are charged the higher amount (per person) out of US $250.00, or 10% of the total cost of your visit.

(e) If less than 7 days remain, a cancellation is considered a "no show"* and does not qualify for any refund.

** Special Myanmar Tour cancellation terms. These terms supersede the standard terms listed above for cancellations. **

Myanmar has very few good service providers and almost all of them charge significant cancellation and change fees once a reservation is confirmed. The change and cancellation costs get higher as you get closer to the stay dates. We strongly recommend that all travelers, especially those visiting Myanmar, get travel insurance to protect their investment.

Cancellations: Cancellations received by us with more than 95 days before your tour starts are charged the higher amount (per person) of US $300, or 20% of the total cost of your visit. Cancellations made between 95 and 65 days before your tour starts are charged the higher amount (per person) of US $500, or 40% of the total cost of your visit. For tours beginning between 65 and 35 days from the date of cancellation, you are charged the higher amount (per person) of US $1000, or 65% of the total cost of your visit. Changes - Changes to your tour package after your acceptance of the "Confirmation of Availability Package" are done at the sole discretion of Easy Tours. You can request them by mail or by accessing our Alter Plans Form. If we are unable to make your desired changes, we'll offer you the option for a refund as defined in our "Cancellation" section.

Very infrequently, small changes may be made to your travel arrangements which we reserve the right to do so at any time, and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. These changes may be the result of Force Majeure or other similar reasons that are beyond our control, such as weather conditions, delays in departures, strikes or riots, overbookings or closure of a hotel, decisions taken by Tourist Organizations and/or State Governments, etc. This may result in an alteration of the itinerary, omission of a destination, or changing the time spent in a particular destination. If it is possible we will provide you with alternative arrangements, and if not, give you a refund as per our policies defined in the "refund section".

Refunds: - All payments for transportation, or travel service, not provided to the passenger shall be promptly refunded, in accordance with the agreed-to terms and conditions, unless the passenger otherwise instructs the Easy Tours in writing.

California law requires certain sellers of travel to have a trust account or bond. We have a trust account with Citibank. All guest payments go directly to this account. From their, payments are disbursed to the vendors providing different services during your upcoming visit.
If you cancel your tour, or do not make payments as per the agreed upon schedule, Easy Tours shall process your refund (after deducting the agreed upon cancellation costs) in less than thirty days from the earliest of the following dates:
(1) The scheduled date of departure.
(2) The day the passenger requests a refund.
(3) The day of cancellation by Easy Tours.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to provide the tour package, we will process the refund of all your payments within three days from the day that we become aware of this inability.

In the event of cancellation due to unforeseeable circumstances beyond Easy Tours' control (such as a natural disaster), Easy Tours will refund all your money, less any Non-Refundable Charges, within 30 days of cancellation, after adjusting for any unrecoverable payments already tendered to our suppliers, as stated in the State Of California mandated disclosure in the following paragraph.
