Easy ToursTravel In Vietnam Reopening Requirements

When can you travel to Vietnam? Updated September 1st, 2021

Travel Reopening Updates: September 1st, 2021
Covid-19 Current Conditions: Due to a rigorous system of identifying, testing, tracing and isolation, Vietnam has been one of the very best nations in controlling the pandemic, which was first detected on January 23rd, 2020. Vietnam has seen an increase in cases in the past few months, although the per capita numbers are still a fraction of what the west has endured, and the authorities have reacted very strongly by strictly quarantining and controlling affected regions. The nation of almost 100 million residents has reported only 449,000 cases so far, with 11,064 deaths.

When will Vietnam reopen for tourism?
Vietnam closed its borders for international tourism on March 22nd, 2020. As of now, no date has been announced for its reopening. Based on informal conversations with Vietnam’s tourism authorities, our Vietnam offices believe that their nation’s borders should open for tourists by the end of 2021, but we do not recommend planning travel for dates before January as we feel that there is a chance that Vietnam may delay their opening until the start of 2022 Since April the Vietnamese authorities have been talking about a 3-step border opening for vaccinated arrivals, with the 3rd and last step being for general tourism. No dates for these steps have been disclosed as yet.

What requirements will there be for incoming tourists?
It is Easy Tours’ opinion that general tourism in Vietnam will initially require a combination of proof of a credible vaccination and some testing requirements, although it is possible that just the proof of vaccination may suffice at some point.

Luxury Tours & Vacations Availability
Easy Tours is currently offering private luxury tours and luxury escorted vacations in Vietnam for travel dates starting from January 5th, 2022 with flexible terms as outlined below. Easy Tours will not operate our Small Group Tours in Vietnam until at least spring 2022 as, prior to that, we are not comfortable facilitating joint travel for guests who are not from the same household or family/friends circle.

Cancellation options related to Covid-19.

Cancellations due to freshly imposed entry or other significant travel restrictions by the Vietnamese Government: If Easy Tours is forced to cancel your tour or vacation due to entry restrictions imposed by the Vietnamese government, Easy Tours will inform our guests within 2 business days of our in-country offices becoming aware of this fact, and all guest payments will be credited towards future Vietnam travel to the same destinations with Easy Tours. Please note that this does not apply to international flight costs, the contract for which exists solely between the guest(s) and the airline.

Guest Decision to Cancel Travel: For travel ending by February 28th, 2022, if a guest decides that they are not comfortable in traveling to Vietnam for any reason, including the virus, they will have the option to have their payments credited for Vietnam travel before December 20th, 2023 as long as 45 days remain before their tour start date. If less than 45 days remain, or if any of your travel dates are after February 2022, our standard cancellation costs will apply, and refunds, if any are applicable, will be processed according to our standard terms and conditions. Along with our luxury hotel partners, we expect tourism to boom from early 2022 onward due to pent-up demand.

Easy Tours Commitment to Guests:

1. Vaccinated Service Providers: All our colleagues (Tour Directors, Guides, Chauffeurs) and the luxury hotel staff who you will encounter are already completely vaccinated with credible and highly rated vaccines. They will always wear masks around you and ample disinfectant will be used in your vehicle on a daily basis. Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes will be available throughout your day as you explore, and at your hotels.

2. Hotels & Dining: We only offer the top luxury hotels and resorts, all of whom have established, and proven, a very strong commitment to the wellbeing of guests and staff. 4. Vehicles and chauffeurs: Your vehicle will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized each morning, and hand sanitizer will be available to you in your vehicle at all times. You will have the same chauffeur and vehicle throughout your tour, unless your tour includes multiple regions/countries that require a flight.
