Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Delhi and you are greeted at the airport by an Easy Tours Travel Facilitator and ushered to a chauffeur driven vehicle. Your arrival and departure airport/railway station transfers, planning and greeting services, and more, are all complimentary when you book your luxury train experience with Easy Tours.
We recommend arrive a day earlier as this allows you to recuperate from jetlag, and serves as insurance against international flight delays and cancellations. The cost of a pre-night and/or post night hotel stay can be included, as can additional sightseeing in Delhi or other destinations on the Indian Subcontinent.
Maharajas’ Express journeys currently commence on Sunday mornings, so we assume an arrival on that day, unless you are opting for arriving a day earlier.
Your chauffeur driven vehicle will be available to you until about 8:30 AM, when you are escorted to the train and welcomed for check in formalities.
The following description is furnished by the train operator, the IRCTC, a part of the Indian Government. IRCTC reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary as needed.
The train sedately chugs out at 9:30 AM for Agra. Enjoy brunch on board as you arrive at Agra. As you reach the ‘City of Mughal Splendour’, visit the world famous Taj Mahal (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as the mausoleum for his favorite queen Mumtaz Mahal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this incomparable marvel is constructed entirely out of white marble and is an architectural masterpiece with beautiful inlay work and marble screens. Return back to the Maharajas’ Express. You may choose optional activities such as spa at a five star hotel or a private shopping tour or Mohabbat the Taj show or Visit to Itmad-ud-Daula. Dinner is served on board in the royal dining cars.
Please contact the Guest Relations Executive for the optional activities.

Day 2 (Monday): Agra - Ranthambore. Early this morning, disembark to visit the exquisite Agra Fort. You may choose an optional visit to Itmad-Ud-Daulah. Later, enjoy relaxed breakfast on board as you travel to your next destination Ranthambore. Lunch shall be served onboard. Arrive into Ranthambore at around 1:30 PM. Proceed for an exciting game drive at Ranthambore National Park at 2:15 PM. Originally the private hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, Ranthambore was declared a National Park in 1973. The Park is famous for its open sightings of Tigers, Sambar, Chital, Nilgai, Chinkara, Wild Boar, Sloth Bear, Hyena, Jackal and Leopard. The safari cannot be compared to that of Africa and you are indeed fortunate if you spot the elusive tiger or the shy leopard. The safari is carried out in open vehicles and the ride is quite bumpy. One must carry adequate warm clothes for winter months.
Return to the Maharajas’ Express by 1715 hours. Enjoy an “Indian Evening” onboard followed by Dinner as the Maharajas’ Express proceeds for Jaipur. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on board.

Day 3 (Tuesday): Jaipur. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board. Following disembarkation and a grand traditional welcome begin your exciting tour of the pink city with a visit to Amber Fort at 0900 hrs. The Amber Fort, set in picturesque and rugged hills is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh, the fort was made in red sand stone and white marble. The rugged forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture. Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura.
A short jeep ride takes you up to the fort where you will enjoy a tour of the royal apartments, with striking views of the gorge. Step back into the Mughal era as you enter the Chamber of Mirrors (Sheesh Mahal), and the Hall of Victory. Return back to the train for a leisurely lunch on board.
You may also choose to participate in the optional activities such as Spa facilities at a five star hotel or Private shopping tour or Golf at Rambagh Golf Club or visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar (The Observatory).
Please contact the Guest Relations Executive for the Optional services.
Proceed for an exclusive royal experience. Your arrival at the venue will be accompanied by the band and the beating of ‘Nagadas’ (huge Indian drums). You shall also have an opportunity to indulge with the elephants – paint them, feed them or opt for a joy ride. Later, enjoy Cocktail dinner over sparkling wine at the venue. Afterwards return to the station by 9 PM as Maharajas’ Express proceeds for Delhi. Breakfast and Lunch on board. Dinner at an exclusive venue (City Palace or Jai Mahal Palace).
